A mattress older than five years, just throw it out!

Yes,  that’s  correct,  if you’re suffering from lower back pain, it may be the very mattress you’re sleeping on.  We spend approximately 1/3 of our lives sleeping in our beds, the mattress you have  will determine how healthy you sleep.  Sleep, being the most important thing to human life after nourishment and water.

Often times, patients visit my office stating:  “Doc, I don’t know what it is, but I think I slept funny”  No, that doesn’t mean they fell asleep to a late nite with David Letterman and his guests Zack Galifianakis (Hangover II) and Ellen Degeneres, it may mean they have a mattress older than five (5) years old.

Spinal health is key to your well being, in the Hippocratic Oath, taken by all medical doctors, the great physician Hippocrates states:   “Look first to the spine for the cause of disease…”

Spinal adjustments are key to good spinal health.  Hippocrates was not only a medical physician, but did do spinal adjustments as well as using herbs and botanicals to heal his patients.   Recently, in the current issue of New Jersey Life’s  Health &  Beauty Magazine, an article submitted by the Association of New Jersey Chiropractors speaks to us about “Sleeping Well, using pillows, re-adjustment and a discussion of some very important mattress facts.”
