Postpartum Depression or B- Complex Deficiency?

Postpartum depression (PPD) is a real, serious problem among many new mothers. It can be a life-threatening condition for mothers who suffer from severe postpartum depression and their babies. Many of the mother’s critical nutrients are consumed by the fetus during pregnancy, so after childbirth, all women are nutritionally drained. This nutritional draining often leads to B-Complex Deficiency Syndrome (BCDS), which can cause severe depression. BCDS can cause weakness, fatigue, indigestion, loss of appetite, cravings for sweets, noise sensitivity, headaches, insomnia, nervousness, rage, hostility, hallucinations, forgetfulness, axiety, and deep depression. B-Complex Deficiency Syndrome is not only seen in postpartum women; it the most common nutritional deficiency syndrome among all men and women in America.

Unfortunately, postpartum women are more often treated for their depression symtoms than for the BCDS they experience after childbirth that causes their postpartum depression. Instead of taking anti-depressants, new mothers should be taking a whole, raw, live, natural B-complex supplement to store a nutritional balance in their bodies.

Synthetic B vitamins will not do the trick because they are no more than isolated processed chemicals that are quickly excreted from the body. It is important to take a whole-food concentrate supplement that contains all the B-vitamins and B-vitamin counterparts that allow the body to aborb these nutrients. It is recommended that women take 2-3 of these whole-food B-complex supplements with every meal before and during pregnancy, then kick up the dosage to 3-4 per meal for 9 months after pregnancy in order to avoid PPD caused by BCDS and ensure that the fetus gets all the critical B vitamins it needs as it developes.
