Caring for chronic injuries

Since 48 hours have passed since your injury, it now becomes a chronic injury, Chronic injuries do not respond well to ice, but do respond to moist heat, and at times, both ice and heat. Please note, moist heat only, not dry heat. Here is a simple template that will guide you whether you are the parent or care giver for your athlete. These are recommendations to all athletes young and old. When in doubt, always use ice! –Dr. Meimaris
